BLETCHLEYS MISSION TYPES BH&HII V1

Missions edited by Bletchley especially for 'Wings: Over Flanders Fields' and updated for BH&HII
They are designed to add variety and more historical information and detail in the briefings
to add even more immersion!

The mission briefings are mainly for the Flight Leader - so if the CO instructs you to fly at a certain altitude or to do
certain things this really only applies to you if you are the Flight Leader: as a wingman you just have to follow the
leader and be prepared to protect him from attack, or to take over the mission if he has to turn back with engine
failure or from enemy action. Some things are impossible to do anyway - you will just have to use your imagination
when told to do things with a spark transmitter, an old infantry boot or Beatrice/Greta and her pigeons...

Once installed make sure you check the workshop setting is set as per point 4. below.

Post questions you may have about these missions or their use to Bletchley in either of the WOFF forums

Instructions
============

1. Unzip this zipped folder to a temporary place on your PC.

2. You should have an unzipped folder 'MissionTypes' and this Read me. Inside this 'MissionTypes' folder there should be 4 subfolders :
'Flanders' 'Marne' 'Verdun' 'Alsace'.
Inside each of these there should be 2 subfolders 'BattleRaging' 'Quiet'.
Inside each of these should be a set of mission files for Britain, France, Germany and USA.

3. At C:\OBDSoftware\WOFF\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\campaigns\CampaignData
(change this appropriately if you installed WOFF to somewhere else of course)
you might find a folder 'MissionTypes'. Delete this folder if it is there but don't worry if it isn't
(if already there it contains only placeholders)
Paste the new 'MissionTypes' folder into the CampaignData folder.
So you end up with this :
C:\ OBDSoftware\WOFF\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\campaigns\CampaignData\MissionTypes

Just double check inside MissionTypes folder - you should then see the folders :

Alsace
Flanders
Marne
Verdun

You should not see a 'MissionTypes' folder within the 'MissionTypes' folder!

4. Now in Workshops in 'Wings: Over Flanders Fields' you can enable 3rd Party Mission Types
Set this to ON.

Then Exit WOFF back to desktop and restart WOFF to make this new workshop setting stick.

If you fly multiple missions without exiting WOFF between each one, you may sometimes see the same mission type repeating itself.
This can happen anyway (as missions are selected randomly and can repeat, and some are identical or very nearly so)
But if you seem to be stuck in a 'groove' exiting WOFF and restarting WOFF will usually kick you out of it.

5. Now fly a pilot career and you should see more varied missions and mission briefings.

Note: when a unit becomes non-operational, with 3rd Party Mission Types set to ON, you will not get Defence Missions - you will continue to get
operational missions, but they will become solo missions (you will see the rest of the Flight listed at the Briefing, but you will be on your own
by the time you get to the airfield). If you switch 3rd Party Mission Types to OFF in the Workshop, exit WOFF and restart, you will get the solo
Defence Missions for as long as the unit is non-operational (at which point you can switch 3rd Party Mission Types back ON, exit and restart WOFF).

To return to stock mission types, change the workshop setting back away from '3rd Party Mission Types', exit WOFF to desktop and then restart WOFF.

If things break, then delete the MissionTypes folder (only!) that you copied to

C:\OBDSoftware\WOFF\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\campaigns\CampaignData\

And go back to the workshops setting and set 3rd Party Mission Types to OFF. Then exit WOFF to desktop and restart WOFF. If you still have problems
uninstall and reinstall WOFF as per section 17) of the WOFF FAQ, available from our Website downloads
page.
